Cadillac CTS-V Wagon: Bigger, Longer And More Uncut [Spy Photos]

This is it — the Cadillac CTS-V Wagon — fully unmasked at a marketing photo shoot. It’s the stretched-out high-power people-hauler every automotive journalist has been waiting for. Let’s just go ahead and call it the Cadillac of awesome.

Of course we expect the CTS-V Wagon will come equipped with the same 550 HP+ 6.2-liter LSA engine as it’s sedan and coupe brothers. Frankly, what more do we need to know? The fact that we have a real picture of this vehicle we never thought would see the light of day is the only news we need to read. Do want.

So what if Bob Lutz is gone. His legacy lives on.

Click on the shot above for a bigger, more in-your-face look at the CTS-V Wagon.

Every Race Needs a Wienermobile! [24 Hours Of Lemons]

We saw some great stuff at yesterday’s Sears Pointless LeMons BS Inspection, including a Citroën DS and a bunch of don’t-try-this-at-home V8 swaps, but the NASCAR Meyer Wienermobile Corolla may have made the strongest impression on us.

Last time we saw this car, it was decked out in Cannonball Run Ambulance colors. Problem was, they’re not the first Cannonball Ambulance, and what does a Corolla have to do with a 70s movie ambulance anyway?

When we arrived at the track yesterday morning, we couldn’t quite figure out why the team had a dude welding a frame inside a weird bondo-and-cardboard contraption on the roof of the car, but it all became clear when we saw the “buns” nearby. Hooray for last-minute theme improvements!

The team was able to whip up some pretty good wiener-esque costumes to go with the car.

Some late-night fine tuning of the steel wiener-structure was in order, but we expect to see this thing out there on the track later this morning. Yeah, we’re already lowering Infineon Raceway’s property values. Good work, NASCAR Meyer!

Report: GM builds 100,000th Chevrolet Camaro

2010 Chevy Camaro

No matter which side of the Mustang/Camaro divide you fall on there’s no arguing that Chevrolet’s reborn entrant in the pony car wars has been a hit. It’s been less than a year since production of the 2010 Camaro began at General Motors’ Oshawa assembly and the 100,000th example rolled off the line this week. The milestone car was reportedly an inferno orange SS.

Ever since last June, the Camaro has been outselling its chief rival,, the Mustang, despite the Mustang’s refresh at around the time of the Camaro launch. Ford, however, left out one important aspect in the 2010 redesign, the powertrains. That oversight has been addressed for the 2011 model year, and the Ford vs. Chevy battle begins anew next month. That’s when 2011 Mustangs will start rolling off the line with power on par with the Camaro, along with the significantly better interiors that carry over from 2010. We’ll be watching this horse race very carefully over the rest of this year. Hat tip to Henry!

San Francisco Neighbors Breathe Sigh Of Relief: DOTSBE Detroit Iron Sell-Off! [Found On EBay]

There’s this incredible collection of street-parked vintage Detroi cars residing in San Francisco’s Western Addition… yes, one of the most parking-challenged neighborhoods in the City That Parking Forgot. It appears that the owner of these cars is making some room.

It saddens us to think that these cars will no longer carry the flags of recently-defunct Oldsmobile and Plymouth (and endangered Mercury) on the streets of San Francisco, but we assume that many more remain in the collection. Thanks to DodgePolara500 for the tip!

Conqueror II: Hamann builds second rendition of Range Rover Sport

Hamann Conqueror II

There were so many debuts at the Geneva Motor Show this year that a few new cars were bound to slip through the cracks. We happened to miss this custom Range Rover Sport from Hamann, probably because the 670 horsepower Tycoon Evo M was sharing the same stand. Named the Conqueror II, it follows up on Hamann’s first take of the Range Rover Sport that debuted a few years ago.

Benefiting from the RR Sport Supercharged’s new 5.0-liter V8, the Conqueror II packs 560 horsepower and 506 lb-ft torque thanks to a revised engine management system and a sport exhaust. The exterior gets the full Hamann treatment, with a full body kit, carbon fiber hood, LED running lights and forged 23-inch wheels. Interior modifications are relatively subtle (the snakeskin seats in Conqueror I are thankfully absent) and include the usual stuff like embriodered mats, plus aluminum and carbon fiber accents. Hit the jump for full details, and high-res photos can be found in the gallery below.
